Jerrol Wallace, DNP, CRNA

  
Lieutenant Commander Wallace was born in Brooklyn, New York. He received a B.S.in Psychology in 1998 from Campbell University, a B.S. in Nursing in 2000 from Norfolk State University, a M.S. in Anesthesia in 2007 from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2014 from Duke University.


Lieutenant Commander Wallace enlisted in the Navy in 1993, where he began his Navy career as a Hospital Corpsman. After his initial assignment at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, he transferred to Camp Lejeune, N.C. in 1995 as a Marine Corpsman at Second Medical Battalion where he deployed to various places throughout the country and abroad. He then returned to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in 1998 as the Leading Petty Officer of the Emergency Room where he was selected for the Medical Enlisted Commissioning Program.

After he was commissioned, he began his career as an officer at the National Naval Medical Center Bethesda as a ward nurse in 2000 where he deployed on the USNS Comfort (TAH-20) during September 11, 2001. In 2003, he returned to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth as an Intensive Care Nurse and deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2004, he was selected for the Navy Nurse Corps Anesthesia Program under the Duty Under Instruction Program where he earned his credentials as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in San Diego, California in 2007.  In 2008, he returned back to Virginia where he was the sole anesthesia provider on the U.S.S. Harry S Truman (CVN 75) for 2 years. In 2010, he transferred overseas to Yokosuka, Japan and became the Chief Nurse Anesthetist and Division Officer at Naval Hospital Yokosuka of the Anesthesia Department. He also deployed on the U.S.S. George Washington (CVN 73) during the Fukushima plant/Tsunami disaster in 2011, again as the sole anesthesia provider. In 2012, he was selected again for Duty Under Instruction where he received his Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Duke University in 2014 and is currently the Site Director for Phase II Clinical Training and Assistant Professor at the Uniformed Services University’s Nurse Anesthesia Program-Portsmouth Detachment at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.

Lieutenant Commander’s military awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (5), Joint Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation (4), Battle E (2), Good Conduct Medal (2), Fleet Marine Force Ribbon, National Defense Medal (2), Armed Forces Expeditionary Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Global War on Terrorism Ribbon, Humanitarian Medal (2), Sea Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Sharpshooter Pistol Ribbon.

 


Dan Nash, DNAP, CRNA, APRN

Graduate of Texas Wesleyan University with CRNA-MHS in 1994 and DNAP in 2012. Scheduled to complete the Acute Pain Management Fellowship in July of 2018. Currently work in OKC at St Anthony Bone & Joint hospital. Co-founder and partner of Maverick Anesthesia LLC, a company teaching regional anesthesia nerve blocks. 

 

 

 


Sallie Poepsel, Ph.D., MSN, CRNA, APRN

Sallie Poepsel has a broad-based experience in healthcare for approximately 43 years encompassing clinical, education, research, leadership and administrative practices.  Within the last 24 years she has been providing anesthesia services in level I trauma, ambulatory surgery center, office-based and rural hospital settings. She has served in many committees both nationally and at the state level. She owns an anesthesia business and is a volunteer anesthesia provider overseas.

 

 

 

Juan Quintana, CRNA, MHS, DNP

Dr. Quintana is the CEO of Sleepy Anesthesia Associates, founded in 1999, his anesthesia practice provides essential services to several hospitals and ASC’s in Texas. He is co-owner of ABC Consultants LLC, an anesthesia billing company and International Anesthesia Seminars educating nurse anesthesia students on the business of anesthesia.

He is a former President of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA). In addition, Juan served 6 years on board of the Texas Association of Nurse Anesthetist culminating in his Presidency in 2006.

Juan has been practicing anesthesia since 1997, he graduated with a DNP from Texas Christian University in 2009, he is a leader in the area of education and evaluation of cost-effectiveness and efficiency in anesthesia practice.

In 2010, Dr. Quintana became the first CRNA to serve on the Medicare Evidence Development and Coverage Advisory Council (MEDCAC). He currently serves on the Acumen Medicare Development of Inpatient Outcome Measures for Merit-based Incentive Payment System Technical Expert Panel, Co-Chairs the Musculoskeletal Non-spine sub-committee establishing cost and risk adjustment to Medicare claims and the Yale New Haven Health Services Corporation – Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) Technical Expert panel.

Dr. Quintana, acts as an adjunct faculty to Texas Christian University’s, Texas Wesleyan University, Middle Tennessee State and Georgetown University’s Nurse Anesthesia Programs.
